Markets by Geography

We are able to provide a complete line of services for customers living or working in the USA, as well as many other parts of the world.  We are happy to work with anyone, anywhere to investigate the possibility of using our products in your market.  Here are a few key points to consider to help determine whether our products are right for your area.

  • Mapping Services: Our devices are able to generate and report their location using latitude and longitude anywhere on the planet.  All North American customers will also receive street level detail mapping and address lookup detail with each report.  Outside the North American market, street level and address lookup detail is limited to the countries currently in the maps.google.com map set.  Google is continually updating their maps, so the fastest way to check the status of these maps is to click on the link above and see what level of detail is available in your part of the world.  If street level detail is not available, we can also provide custom mapping for anything from a business industrial complex to an entire country for an additional fee.
  • Telemetry Services:  Our real time tracking devices use either GSM cellular or regional satellite service to transmit their location data to our mapping server.   For customers outside North America who live in an area with GSM cellular service, we can either provide sim cards that are programmed to roam on any GSM network which has a roaming agreement with Cingular USA, or we can work with you to provision our units to operate with your local service providers sim cards.  Rates and fees will vary, so contact us for details.

How Our Devices Work

All of our tracking devices use the worldwide GPS satellite system to determine their location on the globe.  As long as the device is placed in a location where it has reasonable access to the GPS satellite signal, it will be able to generate a latitude and longitude for its current location using the GPS satellite system.

Where the units differ is in the method that is used to retrieve the data from the unit.  Our GPS tracking devices can be split into two distinct classes:

  • GPS Dataloggers: These devices store all GPS tracking data in their internal memory, and do not have the capacity to send the information to a remote location using wireless service.  To retrieve the information from a GPS datalogger you must recover the unit and plug it into your own computer to download the date.  We provide you with the programs you will need for this task.

  • Real Time Trackers: These devices also determine their location using the worldwide network of GPS satellites, but they also have the ability to send their tracking telemetry to our central server in real time.  We offer devices with two distinct methods of delivering their tracking telemetry:

    • GSM Wireless Communication:  Most of our devices send in their tracking data to our system using the GSM cellular system.  In order to use the service, the devices must be programmed to use one of the GSM cellular service providers in your area.  Collectively, the network of GSM services covers a large portion of the globe (view map).

    • Satellite Communication:  The ST Sentinel transmits its data using the Globalstar satellite system (view map).
